Spreading Salaam (1)

This is my public speaking text for my school's public speaking competition in our language month...

Well, it's not MINE, of course the teacher gave me.

At least I got number 2....

SPREADING SALAAM

Human interaction is important in any society. In Islam, proper relationships are stressed at all phases of interaction and the common greeting holds a special place in Islamic manners.

Allah says in the Quran,

"But when you enter houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allah, bless and good"

( An Nur; 61)

Too often, we takes greeting for granted and attach minimal importance to them. Similarly, in a hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, the prophet stressed the importance of greetings when he defined the rights of a muslim, 

"The rights of a muslim upon another are five; returning greetings, visiting the sick, following the      funeral procession, responding for invitations, and offering Tashmeet for one who sneezes"

The recommended greeting of a muslim is to say, 'Assalamualaikum' which means,' peace be upon you'.

According to a hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, this form of greetings was ordained by Allah at the time of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him).

THE VIRTUES OF SALAAM

Exchanging salaam holds a high position in Islam. In one hadith, a man asked the Prophet about which aspect of Islam was best. The prophet replied, "Feeding the hungry, and saying salaam to those you know and those you don't know"

Allah Maha Mengetahui.....

Hari ini, gempar satu dunia tentang kehilangan pesawat MAS MH370 (KL-Beijing)
Allahu rabbi, ia berlaku tanpa dapat dijangka.
Bagaimana mereka semua ketika itu?
Andai kata kita yang berada di dalam pesawat itu.
Ketika peluang untuk bersolat sudah hampir tiada.
Hanya harapan yang tinggal.
Ketika itulah, kita begitu mengingati Allah
Ketika itulah, baru kita sedar hanya Allah sebaik-baik sandaran.

Setiap yang berlaku PASTI ada hikmahnya.
Apa hikmahnya?
Mungkin selepas ini kawalan akan menjadi semakin ketat
Mungkin saudara seislam kita (yang berada di dalam pesawat itu) sempat menyebut "La ila ha illallah"
Mungkin mereka sempat bertaubat
Bagaimana dengan kita?
Apabila sampai masa kita?
Apa kalimah terakhir kita?

Hanya Allah yang tahu
Apa yang berlaku ketika itu
Apa yang sedang berlaku
Apa yang akan berlaku

Hanya dengan kuasa Allah, mereka akan selamat
Hanya dengan kuasa Allah, mereka akan selamat kembali ke pangkuan keluarga
Hanya dengan KUASA Allah

Apa yang kita boleh lakukan?
Berdoa
Meminta 
Pray
Mengharap

Allah tahu apa yang bermain di dalam akal kita
Allah tahu apa yang tersimpan dalam lokar hati kita

Allah tahu segalanya
Allah maha mengetahui
